Payments & Accounts Payable Manager
  • Plan, organise and manage the work of the staff attached to the section.
  • Manage and review the day to day receipts and payments. Keep under review the cash distribution among accounts held by the airline to ensure that the company payments can be made in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the handling of all administrative matters relating to the airline’s bank accounts in accordance with the bank’s terms and conditions and other company policies, including, but not limited to, negotiating foreign exchange transactions, organizing bank guarantees, company credit cards, opening and closing bank accounts.
  • Report to senior management and Chief Finance Officer on the airline’s cash flow position as required and to bring any potential problems to the attention of CFO in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the receipt and safeguarding of cash held in the company.
  • Keep under review Treasury Section systems (e.g. electronic banking) so as to ensure they are appropriate to the airline’s needs and in line with developments in the banking and aviation industries.
  • Ensure that all invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner and accounting schedules are current and up to date.
  • Essential: Diploma in accounting from an internationally recognized professional accounting body (e.g. AAT, Level 1 ACCA)
  • Ideal: Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or ACCA level 2
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a related/similar role
  • Sound knowledge of accounting, finance, and financial reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Honest, reliable, trustworthy, accurate and attention to details
  • Able to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Possesses good leadership skills, planning, organisational, supervisory and change management proficiency
  • Excellent analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to supervise a small team.
  • Computer literate ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good interpersonal competencies – able to effectively communicate and interact with third parties and colleagues.
